Why Teapots?

Which Type?

With so many choices out there, how do you know which type to purchase? When making your choice, keep in mind that there are many different types of pottery used to manufacture teapots and tea sets. The simplest form used is Earthenware or ceramics.  Most of our Novelty Teapots are made using this form of pottery and it is probably the least expensive. Stoneware would be the next type of pottery used.  It is a much sturdier form of pottery, much less fragile.   Porcelain tea ware is made using a much higher quality of clay.  This is probably the most popular pottery used for teapots today. Bone China is used for very elegant table settings and is considered the most refined and expensive pottery for teapots.

Trends for the upcoming year are solid White Teapots.  These will blend in with any table setting and decor.  Chintz, with it's elegant rose patterns of different colors, is also making a comeback.  Hand decorated Porcelain Teapots featuring different themes, including fruit, animals, flowers, birds and characters are always popular.
